Located in Central Iowa, Ruger's Ridge Labradors is a small hobby and show breeding program raising AKC Labrador Retrievers with a focus on health, structure, breed type, temperament, and functionality.
We believe a good Labrador shouldn’t just look the part; they should be athletic, steady, and highly emotionally intelligent as well. Whether you’re looking for a family companion, a hunting or fishing partner, conformation show dog, our Labs are bred to be the total package. They’ll retrieve a bird, cuddle on the couch, enjoy a good swim, and somehow know just when you need a nudge or a lean

Our goal is simple: our dogs are family first. We are committed to raising healthy, happy, well-socialized dogs while preserving the qualities we value in the breed and thoughtfully producing the next generation of show dogs and beloved family companions.
Our dogs are part of our everyday lives, with plenty of space to play, explore, and simply be dogs. We prioritize high-quality nutrition, daily free-range exercise, individual attention, and plenty of time with our family to support their physical and mental well-being.
That same care begins with our puppies from the moment they are born. Each puppy is family-raised with hands-on attention, thoughtful socialization, and age-appropriate experiences to help them develop into confident, adaptable, and well-rounded dogs—whether their future is in the show ring or as a cherished family companion.
Health is at the heart of our breeding program. Before breeding, our dogs undergo extensive health testing, allowing us to make thoughtful, responsible breeding decisions with the goal of producing healthy puppies that reflect the quality, temperament, and characteristics of the breed.
