How much do your puppies cost?
Our puppies are $3,500 for new families and $3,000 for repeat families. We do not offer full registration or “breeding rights,” and we kindly ask that you not inquire about these options. Pricing remains the same regardless of color, sex, or other preferences.
All puppies are sold on AKC Limited Registration.
Are your Labradors English or American style?
We are dedicated to raising AKC Labrador Retrievers that reflect the breed standard in both structure and temperament. Our breeding program focuses on preserving the qualities that make a Labrador unmistakably a Labrador—from their kind eyes, soft expression, substantial build, water-resistant double coat, and signature otter tail to their happy, gentle, and eager-to-please nature. Above all, we strive to produce well-rounded Labradors with the sound structure, classic appearance, and wonderful temperament the breed is known and loved for.
What is "fox red"?
“Fox Red” refers to the darkest shade of yellow found in Labrador Retrievers. While we love the rich fox-red color, color is never our primary goal. Every breeding is thoughtfully planned with health, temperament, structure, and breed type at the forefront. Our goal is to preserve the quality of the Labrador while producing healthy, well-rounded dogs that reflect the breed we love.
How big are your labs when full grown?
Our Labradors are bred with the AKC breed standard in mind, including proper size, structure, and proportion. Our females generally mature between 60–75 pounds and stand approximately 21–22 inches at the shoulder, while our males generally mature between 80–95 pounds and stand approximately 22–24 inches at the shoulder. We strive to produce balanced, substantial Labradors while maintaining the structure and characteristics that define the breed.
Do you remove dew claws?
No. While we have removed dew claws in the past, my perspective has changed as I have continued to learn throughout my career in veterinary medicine and as research has evolved. Studies suggest that dew claws may serve an important functional purpose, providing stability and helping dogs grip, climb, and maneuver—especially when working in the field. There is also research examining the potential relationship between dew claw removal and carpal joint health later in life. For these reasons, we have chosen to leave our puppies’ dew claws intact.
Why do you raise puppies?
Ethan and I thoughtfully plan each litter with a purpose and a goal for our breeding program. We strive to produce dogs we would be proud to keep ourselves—whether their future is in the show ring, the hunting field, or as a beloved family companion.
One of the greatest joys of raising our puppies is watching them become cherished members of their new families. Knowing our dogs bring years of companionship, adventure, and lasting memories is what makes this so meaningful to us. We’re grateful to welcome each family into the Ruger’s Ridge family and to be part of their journey.
